Silverlake Community Church believes that spirituality is a process of action and reflection. Our goal is to develop a variety of ways in which we express and go deeper in our Christian spirituality. We have a variety of ministry opportunities related to our worship service (choral, praise team and projection/sound), community building within our church (children and youth ministry/care for sick and elderly/Bible studies/small groups/food and fellowship), and community building in the communities of Silver Lake, Echo Park, Los Feliz and Atwater Village as well as the world (Silverlake Arts Festival/Human Trafficking/Disaster Assistance). Our goal is to build in both action and reflection in each of these activites so that we may grow together in our commitment to Christ.

Some opportunities for spirituality: Spiritwatch is an all-church Bible study which meets on Wednesday Nights at 6.30pm. Childcare is provided. Recent topics of discussion include an examination of the book of Job asking, “Why do good people suffer?” Human Trafficking: A group concerned about the issue of human trafficking-happening on a global scale and even in our city of Los Angeles. Every other week we study the book “Not For Sale: The Return of the Global Slave Trade – And How We Can Fight It”. This group has eveloped a concrete and practical way for our church to respond to this issue.
